I previously blogged ( December 2010) about the need for world class facilities to ensure optimal performance from people you work with, however, on reflection I omitted to add that we should also seek to measure the success of our co Olympians . Not everyone can achieve a podium finish, but creating a winning environment , measuring and encouraging performance is also a secondary part of getting the best out of the available talent.

Russian Accounting
Here is something to consider, what happens when you have a very Charismatic Accountant ( an oxymoron-Ed?) in a position of power?
How can the charm, warmth and charisma have a negative effect on the output of the finance function and do we have to remind ourselves of the dark side of this .
If a finance department is run on the cult of personality , then maybe we are in trouble.....
