Anxiety is creeping back into people's minds with the general level of economc activity on the decline, a growing level of unemployment, mass media giving us bad news stories etc
How do we manage Anxiety? Is it a case of controllability of events and numbers , or are we so paralysed by anxieties it actually stops us functioning?

Historical Accounting

The process of Accounting, or at least the measures of debits and credits was invented by Italian Monks . The issue here is that the principle that every debit must have a credit and books should be balanced has stood us in good stead for several centuries, so is there anything new to add to accounting?

Redundant Accounting

I have written this piece as a result of the continuing austerity measures that businesses find themselves in and a warning to FD's about complacency within the accounts function, who themselves should not be immune to the overall business environment of looking at processes, including the accounting processes and deciding whether economies can be acheieved.
I suppose the lesson is that no department or function is sacred.
